'legit' is the word.

It is true. Everyone keeps saying the word 'legit' these days, making an originally lame-slash-nerdy word (aka legitimate) sounds so awesomely cool.

Anyway, there were a couple of interesting stuff going on actually all semester. i have no idea why i didnt write it down on this lovely piece of blog. kelak laa. tido lok ;p

illness in moderation

i feel sick and nauseous and tired.

how long does it take for a guy to call? or will he never call?

if im gonna be distracted all day long by this annoying feeling, i might as well give up on trying to find a boyfriend.

my ever-easy brain has no capacity for this complexity.

and this is not even the preliminary stage yet.

impossible. and i want to kill someone.

recently, im broke. and feeling tired. and have a new sense of drama.

broke, as in i haven't got my allowance yet. and i have to pay my rent. and pay for my bounced check. and buy new books. and pay for the broken car when afif & i knocked a deer last saturday. i've never been more broke it's actually hilarious. my new term starts in less than a week, for winchester's sake! shell, whats wrong?!

feeling tired, as in shell has made it a mandate for scholars to maintain a second upper degree. then shell assumed that a second upper degree is 3.5 & above! assumption occurs as the american system doesnt have a gpa standard. which i find weird, but nevertheless wth dude~ how am i gonna achieve that? when have you looked at my face and thought im smart? in my case, judge a book by its cover!

have a new sense of drama, as in my life is so fucked-up... lol obviously it is not yet that fucked up. but it gives such an overwhelming feeling of satisfaction to just say that 5-word sentence. "my life is so fucked up...". another favorite phrase of mine these days is "FUBAR" which technically stands for 'Fucked Up Beyond All Repair/Relief'. it beats cursing, & better still, it doesnt sound like you're cursing. just simply saying 'oh, im so fubar' or 'dang, that girl's life is fubar' or 'that car* is definitely fubar' is oh so delightful. tahahaha am i such an easy thing to amuse.

p/s the car refers to this idiot who left his gorgeous blue convertible roofless at the parking space. which was pretty awesome until it started to rain. tahahah idjit!

however, a silver lining in the cloud. a shell correspondence emailed hani saying that they had established that the limit for a second upper is 3.0 & above. yay! finally someone sensible.

but the allowance haven't arrive yet. so yeah, my life's fubar.

I love NOLA

after weeks of waiting for our summer allowance, it unexpectedly arrived! *at least for ali & i*

so when sai kit proposed a trip to New Orleans, Louisana aka NOLA, i jumped to it!

unfortunately, ali couldnt join bcos she had to study for her upcoming engineering exam. it was the first time the 3 of us were separated we were devastated.

result : spent almost the whole driving journey from houston to nola talking to ali on the phone.

anyway. we reached nola around midnight, and so despite our overwhelming enthusiasm for creole and cajun food, spent our first nola meal at iHop.

p/s the next day, i made up for it by trying alligator sausage. yummy!

the next day, we started our journey! the crew includes mua, hani, ain, sai & doug.

we kinda walked randomly around the city, passing through streetshops, art galleries, antique stores, and voodoo stations. nola was so unique i was filled with excitement to the brink!

*pierrot?*

another joy in nola is that hani & i get to 'clean our eyes' as much as we want. for some reason, every hot guy in america decided to go to nola for that weekend. lol not lying.

we even saw a street magician, who was really entertaining and funny, despite his occasional awkward racist remark. i ddnt mind at all, but you know, some of the ang mohs, humorless people.

i even got my 'fortune' read by a warm gypsy.

i was pretty sceptical because analysis tend to be pretty general. but she took one look at me and confidently said "dear, you gotta learn how to manage your money!". which, if you dont already know me, hits right at the spot. & there were pretty accurate things taht she said too. plus, she was such a nice friendly dear lady. cant help trusting those kinds. ;p

then, we decided to go for this Haunted Ghost Tour. or Haunted History Ghost Tour, to be more accurate. only noticed the word 'History' after i caught myself sleeping during the tour.

our tour guide was this sweaty buff guy who couldnt scare you for shxt! by the end of the tour, i was so tempted to leave him in a malay cemetary at night just for fun. for wasting my time. pendek kata, if you're going to nola, dont ever go on these haunted ghost tours.

the only kinda-scary part was the Andrew Jackson hotel where a woman apparently hung herself in one of the rooms due to her husband's infidelity. after her death, couples who *ehem ehem* in the hotel will find pictures of them in the middle of their 'activity', the pictures are set in an angle that can only be taken from above (aka the ceiling).

anyhoo~ after that, we spent an evening in bourbon street. during the day, it was this quiet, typical nola street.

at night, it got crazy. people sprouting up from everywhere. never seen more clubs and bars alight in my life. it was very exciting!

nevertheless we got home tired. lol

the next day, before heading bk home to texas, we stopped by oak alley plantation.

i was adamant about stopping by here. and gawd, im so thankful i did!

okay, onestly, the reason why i wanted to go is because im a major movie buff, and this plantation was one of the setting for 'The Interview with the Vampire" movie starring Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise and Kirsten Dunst.

the plantation was so hauntingly beautiful. it's indescribable.

and i admit, i  may have camwhore-d a bit too much lol

^ this was my fave pic though, bcos hani said this pic was scary as i kinda look like i was talking to someone beside me that couldnt be captured on camera. aka *ehem ehem* ^

finally we had to leave. we were bummed cos nola's awesome!

i will, definitely without a doubt, go to nola again!

ironic.

not referring to the act of using a flat, hot, possibly dangerous apparatus (aka the iron) to smoothen out the creases on a crumpled shirt. nor referring to anything that epitomizes the downey-jr superhero, iron man.

duh.

and more specifically, what was i talking about?

anyway, it's been long since i wrote my last post. & funny, since finally i had something worthwhile to blog about. sigh~

so ma gonna list it out here so i can remember

  • went to new orleans
  • got a's for my summer class. finally!
  • shell's impossible requirement
  • unexpected arrival of allowance
  • a new love for sushi. becoming a more complete embodiment of a japan maniac
  • unhealthy and overwhelming obsession for CW's supernatural
  • chemical plant fire in college station
  • new malaysian kids arriving in texas a&m!
  • deecee-philly trip
  • my 2nd rock concert! arghh

yep! lets start!

breaking down the tears~

oh i miss malaysia so much...

i cant stand it when my friends tell me they miss me. coz i miss them so much so terribly.

the thing i love most about school is when you come to class and start the day by talking about any crap you can think about.

music, anime, movies, boys, ghosts... anything crappy and uneducational.

and in kml, i can just hop to any rooms in the dorm and talk to my friends about basically anything. everything was light-beat and relaxing.

we would dance suju's dont don in one room, then sing dbsk's timeless in another. talk about makino*doumyouji with a group of friend, and then mizuki*nakatsu with the rest.

that was my sanctuary, my heaven. everything perfect there.

here, everyday is like a struggle. i cant find my comfort zone. the only sanctuary i can get is when i am alone. and i dont want that.

i became quiet. i dont know what to say. i became apathetic and boring.

i've never felt more insecure.

now im thinking, is everything here worth it?

this might be my biggest bout of homesickness.

uh'oh

bowling virgin no more!

today i went bowling for the first time!

yay, im so happy!

i know i know. where did i live all my life, a cave? honestly i dont know even know why i never tried bowling. well finally i did!

hani's friend tommy invited her to go bowling with him & a couple of his friends. so i tagged along.

*to my advantage hani gets a lot of guys' attentions ;D *

we (as in tommy, his younger bro james, hani & me) went to Grand Station at Bryan, where they had bowling alleys, laser tags, mini golf place, and (to my great delight) a game arcade!!!

ooo so exciting!

being a first-timer, obviously i SUCK big time.

the bowling first timer XD

hani

brother act -  tommy & james

even hani, who claimed she doesnt know how to play it, did so much better than me. when others score around 60, 70, my score was 20-ish. it was so urghh~ oh well, im there for comic relief =D since it was about to close, we ddnt get to spend much time in the arcade =<

but the boys still get to play the dance2 revolution game. & they were really good! wow!

this machine is everywhere! dang, im so proud of japan. remember para para?

*para para was one of my nicknames too XD*

just had to camwhore. im sorry~

all & all a fun experience.

yeah, a bowling virgin no more!

btw, there's a spa in miri with this slogan

"Virgin No More"

only one thing i can say.

'WTF'

i wish hani a happy happy birthday!

yeah. hani finally turned 19 -for the second time-

since her bday was on the 4th of july (independence day yo!), so we decided to hv her bday dinner on friday nite. at olive garden. the trio plus douglas & sai kit.

love the desserts!

*& come to think of it, why are desserts such a girl's thing? guys dont seem to appreciate desserts... hmm*

then we took a few shots, have merry times together with some typical texan melodies *as in country*, and got totally swayed. haha

~inseparable~

happy birthday dearest hani! i hope you had fun.

we love you to bits!

ibrahim lincoln.

no?

apparently that will be abraham lincoln's name if converted to malaysian. come to think of it, i find malaysian history class quite crappy. just because.

i admire lincoln as a great man. yes, he's nice with the whole emancipation act and stuff. but i admire him most because he is wise beyond his peers. i would like to be even a hundreth of what he is, but i doubt i will ever be.

plus found this little short link about lincoln that i found very endearing.

story of lincoln's beard

im feeling pretty bitter-sad now that the us history class has finally ended. i've learnt so much from it.

it sounds awfully awfully lame, but i really like it.

like it so much that hani, lis & i can make lame jokes about history. like

"yeah, u bully me later i tomahawked you like what Half-King did to Jumonville"

or

"eyh, iboh gaduh ba, later can ask Henry Clay to polah compromise..."

i know, you're thinking, wht the eff? are those jokes? but apparently, yeah, we laughed to that.

damn. this place destroys my humour.

anyway, i chose blogging over sleeping rite now?! whats wrong with me?!

g'nite!

incumbent

found an interesting word today. it made me think of 'imbecile'. haha. let's google what it means.

based on dictionary.com, it refers to

"the holder of an office"

okay, oops. no, it does not mean or imply the word imbecile. and now that i know the definition, it appears to be a boring word.

yawwwwnnn

helped sai kit pack his stuff just now. with all his things in the big moving van.

while i was carrying those things, lis rilek alu minum milo padah

"bibik, angkat yer barang cepat2... jangan malas"

"ya bu, tolong permisi passport gue. gue kena kejaran polisi tengah gue lari masuk sempadan semalam bu."

bah, my indon so lousy la.

anyway, sai kit will be our new neighbour, yay! & he has a car, yay!

& officially i am living in a store. in this small apartment, we have my thing, hani's, lis', afif's, faiz's, astri's, tanjung's and now sai kit's. still waiting for darick's and douglas' things agik.

lol

these guys are really bullying us.

haha

NYway, im freaked out about tomorrow's essay! it's based on father abe, but i really dont know what to write about him... hmm~

& yeah, it was really cool today when this girl came to hani, lis & i, & asked

"are you guys malaysians?

cos i've heard you guys speaking malay.

i'm malaysian too."

& we were like, CooL! such a small world, this is.

i bid to all malaysians, please appreciate the malay language. because when you are out of malaysia, the malay language is a great way for you to distinguish who is of your country and who is not. our language is really very unique.

and also it's the best way for you to kritik orang antarabangsa without them tahu apa dipadah kawu ya.

lol

tipu la you go overseas never do this

oh WOW

today has some highlites =)

finally, i have a little, small, miniscule fragment of life.

spent some time in the REC today. & im beginning to really love the pool. & the friendly lifeguards :)

got some really nice Shivers ice cone. ice cones, me likey!

went to a pool party in ZZ Islander, this new apartment complex which we stumbled upon while we were randomly house-hunting. yeah we were out of place, especially me with my jeans & stuff...

went to watch Transformers : Revenge of the Fallen, which is effing awesomeee! i came out from the cinema with such an overwhelming feeling. it was good, i tell you.

i love shia labeouf. but then again, who wouldnt fall for a guy who's really smart & runs around trying to save both robots and the whole entire humankind?

and also, one who is good enough to get megan fox?  ;p

what do you get when you cross robots & humans?

robots + humans = romans

apparently caesar's a cyborg.

lame joke, i know. haha.

then, stuffed myself at TGI Fridays. on a Friday night. how original.

after a quick HEB grocery shopping, im back home. & dying from boredom again. someone save me now!

omelettes and oreos

... for my abyss-like stomach. gah.

anyway, wanted to share a few random summer piccies i took.

yeah yeah. i admit i took alot of pictures of squirrels. cos im so sakai. & apparently, even squirrels are more friendly during the summer.

cant wait to go back to Great Wall, this Chinese buffet which only charges 9 dollars for -let's see- sushi, a tons variety of chicken (kung pao, general tso), rice, noodle, soup, jello, fish, vege, crackers, fruits, desserts, & yes ice creams! & in those DIY ice cream machines. i wanna get me one of those machines!

well it was kinda funny when we thought this dog was chasing us, instead it ran to this longkang cum river to escape the summer heat. yes, texan summer is hot. i cannot say it enough. especially when we'll be facing 100+ Fahrenheit (aka 39 Celcius) days from now on. & unfortunately, summer has just started... ;O

apparently, summer means Camp Camp Camp too. stumbled upon swimming camps & cheerleading camps. cant help curi2 ambik this gambar.

one of the things which made me love texas is that it's so green! i remembered last spring, trees in the northern states like michigan were still browning. but in texas, everything was already all green & flowering! so beautiful =)

pic of hani & lis braving the summer heat with the assistance of their colored umbrellas. & coming here, i realized only asians wear umbrella in the hot sun. haha, an overstatement of course. but it's so rare to see people using an umbrella to cover from the sun here. it is so rare that you feel almost embarrased to use it, and nearly willing to kiss your fair skin goodbye. =(

this college also has a tradition called pond-hopping. where you're supposed to hop into the ponds around the campus at least once before you leave the college. which i will elaborate once i've done. which i will! cant wait~

kih kih kih. well, this is not a summer pic. i was just browsing through old pics (one of my many efforts to procrastinate), and found this pic, which i adore. we took this pic in front of the Millenium Egg, and had the best of funs taking crazy pics in front of it! one of my fave spring moments =D

*this pic also makes me miss the boys. which i will never ever ever admit to them. screw you, boys*

+_+

oblivion.

meaning 'the state of being completely forgotten or unknown'. as in 'i am oblivious as to how the word oblivion relates to this post. apparently it s a mystery.

anyway it saddens me that due to me taking only one summer class, i hvent been able to meet any new people.

  • but i did have a random discourse with this guy, who suddenly out of nowhere asked 'do you hv a brother?'. before this, i was almost oblivious of the southern hospitality that i had admired so much. now i cant wait for fall semester.

went to the pool again

  • annoyingly, it seemed like out of the blue, all the hottest guys in college station suddenly decided to go for a swin today. i kid you not & if i were to exaggerate one bit, i will starve myself for a decade.
  • 2nd annoyingly, i was playing around in the south side of the pool & the only lifeguard was at the north part. diving around, fooling around, & suddenly i heard a whistle. the lifeguard (who was also a nice sight) called 'Maam, can you swim closer here?". just so he can look out for me. oh M G. he looked at me like he was scared i'll drown or something~ im not a baby!

hmm...

+_+

oh pucker! at least it's interesting today...

what a stupid title. i dont even know what pucker means.

anyway,

at least i find yesterday & today a fairly interesting day. unlike the other redundant days filled solely with screams of "aaaah so HOT! ci**i texan summer!"

well, in short, yesterday was interesting bcos

1) we got left by the bus

& by that statement, i meant to say "Cilaka! i had to walk in this frickkin hot summer!". & it's not like the bus left us bcos we were late. hani & i were waiting for the bus (which came late btw). as the bus arrived, stopped & opened the door, we were walking towards it. a few guys came into the bus, and just as we were standing in front of the bus entrance, it Closed! & just went off. We were right in front of the entrance, for bus-driver's sake! grrr~

2) i got scared of the big bad pool

well, the low pool was closed for this high-school swimming camp. so the only pool open was the diving pool. frickkin scared me to death! 18 ft tall!

but then again, the low pool was about 8 ft, which means my leg had a higher possiblity of turning green than reaching the floor of the pool, so i jumped straight in that 18 ft pool!

it was alrite in the end. =)

3) squirrels arent innocent either

in that crazy hot summer day, i had to walk to history class with lis. then, i saw a couple of squirrels quarreling, wrestling each other in the middle of the pathway. h'ever as we got closer...

'wait, is that what i think it is..?'

apparently squirrels are exhibitionists too in the making-babies process.

it's so wrong to watch an animal porn during a hot hot summer day arrrgh!

you wonder why this is on my list of interesting events? because im a kid. & this amuses me so much that i have to constantly tell myself to grow up.

4) we went on an adventure... not really.

after class, hani lis i decided to go to the mall to buy some clothes for the friday event YAY.

im basically pokai, so i tried to limit my purchase. made a list of things to buy

  • small towel
  • hair conditioner
  • umbrella - for the annoyingly shining summer sun
  • singlets

instead i bought

  • hair scarf
  • earrings
  • singlets
  • winter sweater
  • SONIC's chicken wrap - yummie~

notice that the only purchase that was on the list was my singlets. why do women always shop like this?!!

p/s  & that sweater was totally worth it! it's beautiful & gorgeous & half-price! =p

5) i finally watched pearl harbour *the movie* from start to finish

well, yeah, thats basically it. & josh hartnett. *wink wink*

im so in love with edward norton i want to die

(oh gawd, if i was a boy i'd be a playboy of cliche pick up lines)

"another one of your husband ah pajell?" said lis. cis.

but he is haaaawwwwt!

he can play sweet innocent choir boy 'i, i.. i dont kill, kill nobody, sir..'

& in a split second, BAM! he hits you with a machete with that piercing pure evil eyes.

i cant choose between his innocent sweet smile - or his angry glinting eyes.
